Meet the Farmers
Sylvia Dixon has over 40 years’ experience working with horses and other farm animals, including cows, sheep and goats.
Sylvia is the Vice President of the Canadian Young Event Committee, a board member at the Canadian Sport Horses Association (also runs their Development of the Young Horse program) and a board member at the Ontario Horse Trials Committee.
Sylvia currently operates the Beasley family farm in Schomberg, Ontario where she continues to train horses for various competitions including show, jumping and dressage.
At Far Enough Farm, Sylvia is responsible for overseeing all farm operations and for ensuring that all animals receive excellent care at all times and that their enclosures are maintained to an equally high standard.
She is also responsible for overseeing the breeding of the animals, most of which are born at the Schomberg Farm and then transported down to Far Enough Farm in Spring/Summer.
Under the guidance of the Farm Manager, Rob Croft is responsible for executing all daily operations at Far Enough Farm.
Rob has 25 years’ experience as a Farrier/Blacksmith, which means that he is an expert in equine hoof care including trimming, balancing and shoeing hooves. As a farrier, he has vast knowledge of and experience working with horses, ponies, donkeys, mules and heavy horses. Additionally, Rob has experience raising and caring for goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, parrots, geese, ducks, cattle, rabbits, reptiles, sheep, and llamas.
There are a number of farm hands working at the farm to aid the Farmers with their duties and to answer questions from visitors.
